M1 Garand chambered in experimental .22-06 caliber after WW II. The U.S. Army was experimenting with multiple projectiles and “Duplex” or stacked loads. The rifle S/N 6089161 was made about 1957 at the Springfield Arsenal; the barrel is marked SA 3799-5-57-8142-4238 RP and is correct post-war production. All post-war correct parts; defense cartouche on the left and P inspections in stock; Red tape indicated “Special Handling” or alert to special cartridge when testing; near fine overall and very rare.
